Owl Beauty
This artwork is of a large great grey owl that had become injured and was now being cared for at a local Vermont science and rehabilitation center. It had lost its eye in a car accident and so, also lost its ability to hunt effectively and care for itself. It had gained the ability to educate the public on its own remarkable abilities and beauty. I painted the original piece plein air, with the beautiful raptor watching me the entire time. This artwork would be perfect in the hands of a hiker or a bird, wildlife or nature lover.
Choose from 5” x 7” open edition and 8" x 10" limited edition size prints. Limited edition prints are on bamboo paper and come numbered, titled and signed by artist, either with or without a mat and frame. Open edition prints are not numbered, but are titled and signed by the artist and can also be framed. Unframed prints come with an archival backer and ship flat.
Framed prints are matted with an archival off-white mat and backer, under glass, and live edge frame is completely ready to hang. Mat and frame adds approximately 8” to each side; For example, an 8" x 10" print that is framed has final dimensions of approximately 16” x 18”. Frame dimensions are approximate due to the variability of widths in the live edge wood; No two frames are alike. Artist-crafted frame is made from rescued slab wood, wood that is normally burned as sugaring wood or bonfires. Frame is finished in three coats of Vermont poly-whey varnish, a USDA certified biobased product. Note: photo of framed print shows a different example print but is to show the handcrafted mat and frame style.
Inside of cards are left blank, ready for your personalization. Card measures approximately 5 1/4" x 4" and is printed on recycled white cardstock. A recycled white envelope is included with each card.
