Lone Tree Vista
I have begun painting what will be a life-long series, where each painting shows a special view in Bridgewater, Vermont, and symbolizes my feelings concerning my forward progress in art. I begin the next painting in the series when the one before it has sold. This is my second painting, as well as my prints and cards created from it, in this series, depicting my daunting and hopeful feelings following my career switch from science to art. The view overlooking the Ottaquechee valley in Vermont is dear to my heart. The lone tree stands above the rest as a storm brews, as shown in the tumultuous clouds. This piece symbolizes standing strong in the face of fear. This artwork would make a wonderful addition to the home of an adventurer, hiker, wildlife or nature lover. Or, perhaps for someone who tends to stand out in the crowd or who is about to face a challenge and could use a reminder of strength.
Painting is encased in my signature live-edge wooden frame with hanging hardware attached on rear of frame. Artist-crafted frame is made from rescued slab wood, wood that is normally burned as sugaring wood or bonfires. Frame is finished in three coats of Vermont poly-whey varnish, a USDA certified biobased product. Approximate framed dimensions are 33.5 x 44.5." Note: For shipping purposes, I create a wooden box around the piece for safe arrival. A Certificate of Authenticity is included with every original painting.
