Owl Beauty
Framed oil painting, archival prints and cards of a large great grey owl that had become injured and was now being cared for at a local Vermont science and rehabilitation center. It had lost its eye in a car accident and so, also lost its ability to hunt effectively and care for itself. It now educates the public on its own remarkable abilities and beauty. What struck me most when seeing him, was the play of light on and around him, the mix of cool and warm, of shadow and light. I painted the original piece plein air, with the inquisitive raptor watching me the entire time. This artwork would be perfect in the hands of a hiker or a bird, wildlife or nature lover, or someone needing a reminder of hope.
The painting alone measures 10” x 14”. The painting is encased in my signature live edge wooden frame. Framed oil painting dimensions are 13.5” x 17.5”. A Certificate of Authenticity is included with every original painting.
