Smokestack Starlings
Growing up in Bridgewater, I always remember the birds circling and landing on the bell tower of the Mill and all the outbuildings. They have always been a permanent fixture of this building, even now that their tall stoop has now been renovated. They still live on to be in the memories of all the generations of Bridgewater children that come next. Here I focus just on the starlings – whose songs are my enjoyment. I took reference photos for a year of these starling, perching on the smokestack, sleeping in the belltower and bobbing and riding the weathervane in circles on the wind! This artwork would be perfect in the hands of a bird, wildlife or nature lover, or even an industrial art admirer.
Choose from 5” x 7” open edition and 8" x 10" and 11" x 14" limited edition size prints. Limited edition prints are on bamboo paper and come numbered, titled and signed by artist, either with or without a mat and frame. Open edition prints are not numbered, but are titled and signed by the artist and can also be framed. Unframed prints come with an archival backer and ship flat.
Framed prints are matted with an archival off-white mat and backer, under glass, and live-edge frame is completely ready to hang. There are two print sizes to choose from, 8" x 10" and 11" x 14.” Mat and frame adds approximately 8” to each side; For example, an 8" x 10" print that is framed has final dimensions of approximately 16” x 18.” Frame dimensions are approximate due to the variability of widths in the live-edge wood; No two frames are alike. Artist-crafted frame is made from rescued slab wood, wood that is normally burned as sugaring wood or bonfires. Frame is finished in three coats of Vermont poly-whey varnish, a USDA certified biobased product. Inside of cards are left blank, ready for your personalization. Cards measure approximately 5 1/4" x 4" and are printed on 100% recycled white cardstock. 100% recycled white envelopes are included with each card set.
