Bell Tower Birds
Growing up in Bridgewater, I always remember the birds circling and landing on the bell tower of the Mill and all the outbuildings. They have always been a permanent fixture of this building, even now that their tall stoop has now been renovated. They still live on to be in the memories of all the generations of Bridgewater children that come next. Here I focus just on the starlings – whose songs are my enjoyment. I took reference photos for a year of these starling, perching on the smokestack, sleeping in the belltower and bobbing and riding the weathervane in circles on the wind! This water-mixable oil painting would be perfect in the hands of a bird, wildlife or nature lover, or even an industrial art admirer.
The painting alone measures 20” x 20.” The painting is encased in reclaimed wood from the Mill. Final framed oil painting dimensions are 24.5 x 24.5.” A Certificate of Authenticity is included with every original painting.
