Season's Flow
Oil painting, prints and cards of a heron standing in its wet environment. I came upon this scene in early spring, with the sun hitting the vibrant colors in such a way that all the seasons seemed to flow down the cold water of the brook. I loved the play of colors off each other. It reminded me of why I love living in Vermont - the changing of the seasons and this particular scene imbues all of them! I spent extra time capturing the details and hues for this piece.
The framed oil painting is accentuated with my signature live-edge wooden frame. This dark frame was created using a Japanese technique, called Shou sugi ban, where the wood is torched in flame to acquire a darkened color, bringing out the natural grain of the wood and preserving it, without the need of a chemical stain. Three coats of an eco Poly-whey varnish protects the frame. Framed oil painting dimensions are 37” x 44.” Hanging hardware is affixed to rear of painting.
A Certificate of Authenticity is included with every original painting.
