Do you want to paint, but would like to learn how to draw better as a foundation? This class will meet for 5 Thursdays this summer purely to work on those fundamentals and then ease into painting with acrylics on canvas. You do not need to know how to draw or paint before attending and I will provide instructions and help throughout. Bring your favorite art supplies (see list below). Maximum 12 people. $150 per person for 5-week session. Register above to guarantee your spot in the class!
What You'll Learn
- How to accurately determine angles on subjects to be able to draw correct scale and proportion.
- How to use negative space to strengthen drawings and paintings.
- Grid transferring your drawings from paper to canvas.
- Beginning acrylic painting on canvas of one and two subject paintings.
- Gain confidence in your drawing and painting abilities!
What To Bring
- 1 set of drawing pencils with an eraser
- 1 pad of drawing paper (at least 11" × 14")
- 2 stretched canvases, at least 11" x 14"
- 1 acrylic painting set, preferably 24 colors
- 1 clipboard or stand to fit your paper size
- Ruler
- Optional: Apron for last 2 classes
