Wounded Beauty
$0.00
The subject for this oil painting was a large great grey owl that had become injured and was being cared for at a local Vermont science and rehabilitation center. It had lost its eye in a car accident and so, also lost its ability to hunt effectively and care for itself. It had gained the ability to educate the public on its own remarkable abilities and beauty. I painted this piece plein air, with the beautiful raptor watching me the entire time.
The painting alone measures 10” x 14”. The painting is encased in my signature live edge wooden frame. Framed oil painting dimensions are 13.5” x 17.5”.
A Certificate of Authenticity is included with every original painting.
Some of the threats to the Great grey owl include global warming, traffic collisions (like the subject in this painting), and loss of habitat from logging and development.
15% of my art sales are donated to wildlife and habitat conservation. See http://www.artistsforconservation.org/Katie-Roberts for specific organizations that I donate to.
